super nice people and super delicious food gladly again
Described as Chinese home cooking, this restaurant wonderfully shows that it doesn't always have to be the most unusual dishes to feast on. Mothers and grandmothers have already shown that simple dishes prepared with devotion always put a smile on the faces of hungry guests. The host is also very, very nice! There are lots of delicious dishes, but my favorites are the steamed sea bass and the shrimp pouches. Price: € 6 - € 20 depending on the dish The eggplant, mapo tofu and garlic sticks with pork tenderloin are also recommended. I would love to come back anytime!
There is a star for the excellent food. For the always super unfriendly service, all other stars are missing. I don't know if it is just culturally justified that the interpersonal nature of many Chinese who run restaurants is completely underground. As an example, we were just about to order a main course for a starter. That was immediately commented with: "We have no time". Yes, once you say you want to sell Jun food or not. It should be said that we im. After ordering two main courses and it's half past six (still far from the rush our). To be clear, the shop is half empty. Incidentally, the reason for this contribution was the second rather unpleasant situation we were brought into here. Conclusion: two visits, two very good meals, twice absolutely arrogant and unfriendly service.
Unfortunately not at all enthusiastic. Very "Germanized" Asian. Lived in Asia for a long time. You won't find "sweet and sour" anywhere there. The sauces all have the same sweet and sour taste. Because of the Corona rules, a strong draft can be felt there. Didn't last there more than 30 minutes because it was way too cold. The waitress suggested putting on the jackets. So I don't want to go out to eat comfortably. It's much more comfortable at home. Today I got a cold thanks to the strong draft. The service was nice, but hardly understood us and neither did we. Definitely won't go there again.
Great food. Maybe the best Chinese in Bavaria. Not like the other “Chinese restaurant”, they don't get a good rating from the food, but from the extra friendly service. When you feel good about being served, you ignore and forget how bad the food is. How funny. But the food is really good here. Bravo!
Good food, but very slow service
Lousy service ... food ok
Pretty authentic, it is always a good idea to ask the owner for their recommendations. Pork belly, dumplings with soup, so very good.
Authentic Chinese food. Can definitely recommend the xiao long bao and the eggplants Sichuan style.
The taste is ok! But I feel that Xiaoxiaomei is more delicious. Unfortunately, during the epidemic, only Xiaoxiaomei, which is the same store, can be eaten. I personally feel that the portion is a little bit small. It doesn’t matter whether it’s for two people or a lot of people.
Very tasty and authentic chinese food. The waitresses are friendly but not too quick when serving.
Great authentic cuisine. Both North and South Chinese cuisine with plenty of choice. Also a lot of vegetarian / vegan options on request
Not amused
The taste of Chinese food is authentic, which is rare in Munich.
This was the first place I discovered that had authentic Chinese food before there was any authentic Chinese food offerings in Munich. I came on a Friday without any reservations which was a big mistake because I ended up waiting three hours. I don't know why I waited three hours but I think it was because the food looked so good and authentic that I was especially determined. The place is very, very small and news that it was an authentic and delicious Chinese restaurant probably spread fast because so many people were waiting in line for a chance. After three hours and finally got seated, I immediately made a reservation for the next time so I could come back again! The food was awesome and we ordered so many different dishes which I cannot remember a bad thing about.
A dead fly was swimming in my bowl. what was dismissed as "normal", as a foreign body. no apology. no question whether or something new I would like. Invoice brought to us without comment, we should please pay as inconspicuously as possible and leave. it can happen that something undesirable flies into the food, but how to deal with it should be service & customer oriented professional.
Wow! Absolute favorite Chinese in Munich! We always like to come here to eat. The food is authentic and tasty. The prices are fair and especially comfortable outside in summer.
Original Chinese cuisine in Munich. Definitely try pork belly special and the fish - a real treat
Nest Chinese food I've had so far in Munich, loved it!
My favorite restaurant in Munich. Amazing and authentic Chinese food. If the owner is there, ask him for recommendations. He's very passionate about his food and will be happy to show you which authentic items to order.
Best Chinese food in Munich hands down
I have checked in. The taste is good and quite affordable, but you can't swipe it. There are two stores in total. Be careful not to make a mistake.
The waitress with the glasses was unbelievably rude! Had lunch here together with my uni friends. Everything was fine until we called for the bill. We’ve been here multiple times and we always round up the numbers when we pay (46.1€ to 50€ for example). So the amount of the tips we’re paying was always different. As this time, the amount was close to a whole number, the tips that we were paying was too little. She refused to have it. Before we left, she told her colleague that customers that are not paying tips generously should feel embarrassed. She said all that in front of us..Her colleague that was serving us the whole time just gave us an awkward smile. The food here is authentic but I doubt that we will come back to this restaurant ever again..
Best Chinese restaurant in Munich! Very authentic Chinese food.
I know Mai Garten from Mariahilfplatz. Everyday people have to wait outside for a table, because the food is really good and authentic! I am so happy the new Mai Garten opened. There are more tables and seats. Service is as usually, very friendly! The food has more options to choose from. We ordered my fav steamed fish and Aubergine and tried the dry wok chicken. We both are satisfied and we would like recommend you to visit New Mai Garten?✌️☺️
Very authentic chinese food. Anyone entering this shop must be aware that Chinese standards apply here. (Rather rough service tone, food is brought very quickly, plates are sometimes not cleared although they are obviously empty, waiters only come to the table if you call loudly for him) It is also common here that all dishes are placed in the middle and everyone with their bowl of rice takes what they want from the middle. Whoever does it differently will quickly come out as a beginner If you want to show that you are an absolute professional, order a bottle of Mao Tai for € 400, which is then drunk at the table until nobody can stand.
Superb cuisine, chinese plates with fresh, tasty ingredients, nice preparation and fine atmosphere. Dumplings were tasty and refined and both work and noodles soup were above expectations. The prices of the dishes are completely agreeable and a good choice e of teas complete the offer.
The flavour of 3 dishes we ordered is not bad, but all over oily. All dishes have a layer of oil on the plates...
Not even close to the original Mai Garten Restaurant in the perspective of service, taste and price.
One of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in Munich..well, my Chinese friends agree with me too. They have good food. We went for lunch on Sunday, and it was not very crowded.. The staffs are friendly and cooperative. They suggest their best foods as well. I will recommend it highly.
Small fried meat, the taste is okay, the flavor of tempeh is light, but it is still delicious, too many green peppers cause poor sales. Fish and eggplant, taste delicious. Braised sirloin, not bad, and also served dinner. Rice, normal rice, no success. Comprehensive evaluation, Xiaomei's new store, the price is higher than the old store, tastes good, and the service attitude is good, it is a restaurant that can come again. Recommend everyone to eat.
I already knew Mai Garten from his time at Maria-Hilf-Platz. So I had to try the new restaurant on Gärtnerplatz directly. I celebrated my birthday with 8 people there and ordered a lot of different appetizers and main courses. The food came relatively fast and was excellent from the taste. None of my guests had previously received such authentic and lovingly prepared food. The price performance ratio is absolutely given here. The dishes are very generous. The restaurant invites to great evenings and is very subtle and beautifully decorated by the ambience. Thanks a lot!
Extremely unfriendly service, rush you out by taking away your unfinished drink, not even need to mention the early prepared and reheated dish
We waited more than 30 minutes to sit and more than 50 to get the food we ordered.
Good quality and reasonable price, delicious home cooking is Xiaomei
Great new chinese resteraunt. Authentic dishes and friendly prices. A lot of people come here and I recommend to reserve some seats.
Great restaurant, super value for money! We ordered a meat scallion and forgot to take a picture. The dumplings were great and handmade, it was fresh. Red oil belly shreds and soup buns are also good. I heard that there is a set menu at noon. Try another dish next time!
Old shop customers are still full of business. The taste is still good, and there are new dishes. I just hope that the boss can invite more people, after all, the business is too good and there are too many people ~ haha
